What "extremists" are you talking about? In that sentence you make it seem that you respect islamic "extremists."
yea i respect that they have a backbone and stand up for their beliefs. i don't respect or agree with their beliefs but honestly the people who want to back down to them get even less respect from me.

OK so you are not "accusing" him but rather just "saying" he didn't specifically write something for you comprehension.

Again, who is "they"? There is no antecedent there for "they."

Do you respect both Charlie Hebdo or the terrorist organizations or both parties involved in the Paris Shooting?

it sounded like he was saying islamism was harmless and i disagreed, so i pointed that out. i even said i might have misinterpreted him. what exactly is the problem here?

To my mind, it reads much like "apples and oranges", which is different from "apples are oranges".

The details are a little fuzzy as it is some days ago since I read it, but I wonder if it was the chief editor of Charlie Hebdo who had recently made the point that only in a secular society do people have the freedom of religion.

These days, Saudi Arabia seems a good example of a nation and an Islamic theocracy which is persecuting both muslims and non-muslimson on religious grounds.

then i guess i don't really understand what you were saying. because i think islamism should provoke some amount of fear and/or unease. perhaps we just disagree about that.

I agree with you and have never actually disagreed with you. I think islamism is harmful (although arguably perhaps not always), just like christianism or any other attempt at ruling through religious ideology can and likely would be. Yet you persist in thinking that I don't agree with you. I don't know why this is, but have fun with your strawman.

Islamism isn't harmful to a culture that is dominated by islamists.

no, i believe you. i said perhaps, cause once again that's how your post reads to me. i don't know why it is i seem to be getting everyone irritated at me lately... i feel like i've actually been making an effort not to be so combative and yet i keep getting in fights with you people for some strange reason.

The whole of the islam is fractured into sects, and there is plenty of sectarian violence.
