Oh ja I was agreeing with your post, I was just pointing out that it's more of a complaint against the corporations than the GMOs themselves. And time will tell with the new technology, because it will still have to be rigorously tested before it hits the market.

This is probably the big bit of recent GMO-related news. For a summary, look here: Roundup weedkiller 'probably' causes cancer, says WHO study | Environment | The Guardian

This is relevant to GMOs because Monsanto manufactures their crops so that only glyphosate can be used, and it has to be used in pretty large volume. If it is in fact carcinogenic, that's a very big deal, and although it doesn't discredit GMOs it definitely shows that we should be cautious about what comes with them. That said, there are a lot of studies that say the chemical is entirely safe, so maybe take this report with a grain of salt even if it from a very reliable source.
