Are the representatives of those countries scientists? Even if they are, are they using valid justifications for it? When you address the countries without going into that part, yes that is a bandwagon fallacy. Scientific research alters the consensus, not legal decisions related to scientific matters.

That is most certainly a cop out. Answer the question or I'm going to assume you're evading it. Are the common people intelligent enough to make informed and useful decisions regarding political policy?

Yeah, I kinda don't believe you. Nothing about you says that you respect the intelligence of the average person. I think you just say that cause you kinda have to with your political beliefs. You probably have the same dubious concept of Joe Sixpack at the most basic level as the rest of us.

If GMOs are used as an excuse for the sort of **** Monsanto is getting up to in the US then I don't support their use. Also if corporate greed is the driving force behind research I have no trust in any findings saying how safe they are.

My view on GMOs isn't so much the labeling as it is that we are separating GMO vs organic when they shouldn't be put in separate categories at all. I talked a bit about the monetary effect, but spreading fear about something completely unfounded is only going to hurt the poor uneducated folk of the world. Quote:
Monsanto's science is first rate. Their shady side comes out when they try to monopolize the industry with shady business practices.

100%. I don't think you should be criminally charged if you don't vaccinate your kids, but your kids shouldn't be allowed to attend school with other kids until they are.
