There is, however, a disgusting problem with today's young people, having to need their faces in every photo they take, having to beg for attention 24/7 or they feel unfulfilled. Stupid child, look around and take it in.

I'd guess they think you're weird for not wanting to take selfies everywhere you go. I think it's less about fulfillment and more about a generation where technology is at an all time high and social media is one of the main sources of entertainment.

It's a pretty common cycle of life that I try not to embrace. Every generation thinks they have it right.

People have been taking pictures of themselves since the dawn of cameras. The only difference now is that A) we have someplace to put them (Facebook) other than some photo album nobody ever sees, and B) with digital cameras and cell phones we no longer have to worry about wasting film and the time needed to wait for developing said film, so nobody is worried about taking a bad pic of themselves, which means that people take off-the-cuff selfies rather than setting up a shot and then getting Uncle Ned or some homeless guy to do it for them. To be honest I'm finding myself more annoyed by people complaining about selfies than the actual selfies themselves these days. Quit whining about everything FFS.

Alright, so I voted "she's a dumbass" because I do see why it's inappropriate even though I'm not offended. Why isn't there an "indifferent" option?

Everything is black and white. You must choose. I think the poll is perfect, it steers clear of any and all bias.

I don't think you got my point. Try it again.

I'm just partying because that's what I always do. One teenage girl cannot take this away from Hitler, Ghandi and I.

Did I mention Ghandi's coming? Mega stoked!

The rationalization should not be all three are of equal value so if someone can take a selfie at the Grand Cannon then it's ok for a selfie at a concentration camp. There is a distinction to be made between them. The Grand Cannon was created by nature through erosion, the "Mount Rushmore National Memorial" is a sculpture carved into a mountain top, and Auschwitz (Nazi concentration camp) was created for the mass extermination of human beings.

If was someone's deliberate intention to make light of Auschwitz in a derisive manner it would most definitely be wrong. And if it was done unwittingly in a cavalier manner then it was done in poor taste. I don't think both should draw the same reaction.

I don't know what Princess Breanna was thinking at the time, so I am not incline to judge her too harshly.

I don't get this thread.

The Auschwitz concentration camp is not "famous landmark," it's an "infamous landmark."

To be fair, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is carved into the face of a site that's sacred to the Lakota and which was seized from them by the US government. Because of that, it's actually pretty controversial to many people.

So she smiles for a photo in memory of her recently deceased father and gets jumped on by the same people trying to practice compassion? Ok.
