It would actually fall decently in line with where some recent orthodox Christians have predicted the rapture as well. So, do you guys agree we are doomed? How do you plan to spend the rest of your existence? |
Shocking..
not really. Earth > Humans, we **** it up it presses the reset button and ****s us all. I'm not going to get started because I don't like debating about this kind of stuff. Interesting article I'm definitely going to look more into this. Thanks. |

If it is looming, I'll will start building my bunker and buy guns, lots of guns. Plus a life supply of make up.
I'm interested to know what you guys would do if say this actually occurred. What measures would you take? |
I'm already writing my eulogy.
"She was born and died angry at the patriarchy." I'm ready. |
Nice wishful thinking Sparky. You are most likely to die of old age before that even happens or stress yourself out so much that you end your life early.

Honestly though, that NASA study is pretty spooky. It's not just a matter of global warming |
In 20 yrs you say? *doing math*
i'll be 51 by then probably hearing another end of the world theory. So, do you guys agree we are doomed? How do you plan to spend the rest of your existence? idk if we are doomed just yet, i do believe we are abusing our resources for a profit and that those mentioned elites are the one who really benefit from that but i also believe the self preservation of humanity comes before wealth cause it has to, no? if the world is a sinking ship we'll all drown including those rich bastards, i have to believe that even though they KNOW they're aware they're raping the land for a profit they don't want to exhaust their resources to nothing so they'll know when to stop if not be regulated by another party with a super authority. I mean, idk im drunk and im stupid and idk how to fix this but this reminds me of the Pearl jam 'do the evolution' video symbolism up the wazoo! "I scorched the earth BUT NOW IM HOT!" |
Unless the rich bastards end up pooling their money into building more elaborate space stations or traveling to another planet designated as Earth2 and leaving the commoner swine behind to perish.
|
so unsurprisingly the articles I've posted have been scrutunized to no end. And NASA denies any affiliation with the study other than lending technology.
Pretty interesting rebuttal: Quote:

Scientific development is going horribly fast these days, so in a couple of years they've probably found ways to fill gaps in the ozone layers and convert carbon dioxide into the freshest, very breathable air. If not, I'll just blame capitalists.
|
Here's a viable alternative:
Colonization of Mars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I'd be willing to do it, and I'd bring my Dad/Old Man music with me. |

^ It's a reference to "The Giant Rat of Sumatra" by Firesign Theater
Which means the RAT should have lived and the CAPTAIN should have died OF COURSE! FRIGATE! |

Didn't you mean the linen closet?
OK I'll put the pickles in the galoshes... (rostasi is the only other person that gets any of this) |
I want my pickles to be cold, not full of rubber odour.
|
I don't believe the world is about to end, humans maybe, sure, but not the world. The world has been through celestial collisions, meteor bombardments, super volcanoes that blocked out the sun for centuries, floods, fires, you name it, and recovered. She'll likely shake us off soon like the fleas we are, but she'll go on doing her thing.

Build your bunker, stockpile it with everything you'll need, sell your stocks and bonds and other assets and convert them to gold. The end is near!
After all, it's not as if the so-called "experts" have ever been wrong about their predictions... “We have about five more years at the outside to do something.” • Kenneth Watt, ecologist (1970) “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” • George Wald, Harvard Biologist (1970) “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist (1970) “Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions….By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” • Peter Gunter, professor, North Texas State University (1970) “Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….” • Life Magazine, January 1970 “Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.” • Sen. Gaylord Nelson (1970) “The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist (1970) |
I hope so.
But people have always said the worlds about to end. I have doubts, but I welcome the apocalypse. |
Why is it you hope for an apocalypse? Do you think we humans, taken as a whole, are better off extinct?
|
Meh doubt it. Seems more personal than that. Not much going on in his life so he doesn't mind it ending all.

Haha.

To be fair most doom sayers of the past weren't an overwhelming majority of scientists, nor did they have the abundance of tangible evidence
