those stats are very loaded and i dont take them seriously whatsoever and neither should anyone else. they are really misleading. obviously rape happens but not in the numbers you throw out there. because one guy in california shot 4 men and 2 sorority girls shouldnt really frighten anyone that it didnt directly involve. fearful living is just a sad way to go thru life

youre buying into this fear mongering culture we have and i hope you can buy out of it at some point

I PMed you as well but it was really great of you to apologize. A lot of people have said a lot worse than you about this situation and still have no remorse so your understanding is a wonderful thing

i agree completely. i really wasnt tryin to be personal in this thread but these are all of my true thoughts, take em or leave em. there will be ppl on earth with differing opinion and i can back up mine with plenty of facts anytime someone needs them

its like the terrorist stuff. there always this media sensationalism and fear mongering which over dramatizes and over hypes the news to keep you watching their programs. in turn, more isolated incidents SEEM like they are much more prevalent than what they are.

it applies to rape stats too. if u look at those feminists around college campuses spewing that 1 in 4 women are raped, then do the research yourself, u end up seeing that the study was completely loded purposely to bloat the stats because of self-interest.

what the best way to get someone to follow your idealogy or plans?? Fear.

I thought the CDC figure was one out of five or 20% - being raped or attempt of being raped.

a lot of the stats that get thrown around are from a study done by some lady named mary kross back in 1985. i think it was a college rape study or something. anyways the short version is that she just asked sexual questions then decided afterwards whether she considered it to be rape or not....

there was a lot of ambiguity in the questions. women who had regretful one night stands where they had been drinking were considered to be raped

of the women kross considered to be raped, only 27% of those women considered themselves to be raped.

there is a huge difference in statistics if you look at the cdc, and say, the fbi statistics. most of that is accounted for by survey questions that include phrasings that boil down to 'have you ever had drunk sex'.

if youd like to include drunk or high sex as rape then so be it, but i find it really misleading and contributing to our fear mongering culture. maybe its to help increase funding for womens centers, i dont know the reasoning.

of course i have empathy towards real rape victims in the way that i define rape. the point im makin is that its not nearly as prevalent as ppl think.
