Obviously that's an impossible question to answer but I'd wonder how it would work out if we all listed the good things that we remember happening and then the bad. Would there be more of one than the other? There have certainly been some great achievements in my lifetime, making me often glad to be living in the era I do, but then there have been some pretty awful things too.
If you bother to do a list, remember you can't choose like World War II, as you have to have been at least born when these things happened. For me (born in 1963) Good Man on the moon Apartheid ends Nelson Mandela freed "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland over(ish) Berlin Wall down Bad JFK killed 9/11 Black September Omagh bombing Nelson Mandela dies Catholic Church sex scandals The property crash leading to global recession "Challenger" explodes I'm sure there are tons more but that's all I can think of at the moment, and right now my tally is: Good = 5 Bad = 8 Um.
