I sort of feel like Americans should go to the casino on Thanksgiving, sort of like an apology for our anglo-saxon ancestors being super jerks and destroying Native American families and their property.

No thanks. I'm neither frivolous with my money, nor guilty for someone else's actions.

I have to agree. We have a similar situation here in NZ because the European's took over the country and forced the Maori out of there lands and introduced them to tobacco and alcohol. To this day they have been trying to get their lands back but its very difficult for the government to give it back to them (I'm not sure why). It's not fair to blame our current generation because out ancestors stole their land. I do however think we need to respect them and their beliefs.

I wasn't kidding, so there you go. Now you know something about me regardless of your intention. Yay!

Don't get me wrong, our treatment of the Native Americans is one of the few things that can get me pissed off, but just about everybody in every country on Earth is probably living on stolen land that they acquired by killing/forcing out/conquering someone else. So, while the actions of my ancestors might have been despicable they were in no way out of character as far as the rest of humanity is concerned and attributing that kind of thing to white people or Anglo-Saxons alone isn't logical. I know you were joking, but I just felt like saying that.

that's the pure and honest truth.

I have no idea how anyone survived very long back in those days, seriously.
