I think a little swat from time to time is acceptable but going apeshit on your kid, smacking them up, taking out your anger on them ... it's just disgusting. There is never an excuse for prolonged abuse. Some of the people I see (customers, but rarely do they ever strike me as actual human beings) are so nasty to their children, or so indifferent to them that it makes me sick. It makes me think to myself "holy shit, are you kidding me?"

Some people just seem like they breed to be breeding, for whatever reason.

It's common knowledge in my house that i wasn't planned, but back in those days you never entertained the thought of abortion or giving your kid up

when my grandmother was pregnant with my aunt (1960) she was only 15 years old. She wasn't allowed to go to school anymore. She didn't show herself in public spaces. She didn't speak of it. Her parents were understandably ashamed.

my aunt was born just two days before her 16th birthday; my mother came along 2-3 years later, and her younger sister about 5 years after that.

you'd think they would have figured it out at some point that unprotected sex = unwanted children that will resent you forever, but either contraceptives were super faulty back then or people were just stupid as hell.

I was sort of an accident that my mother passed off as a miracle, and she was hoping for a boy. No wonder she was so pissy all the time (and continues to be). Two daughters must be a nightmare to a conservative Christian, especially in this age of enlightenment.

How do you find something that was never there in the beginning?
