Is that picture genuine or photoshopped? It's brilliant.

At home on an off day from work - I was flipping through the radio, wound up on Howard Stern's show talking about the event. Living in MI, listening to what happened from a New York show, and that I only stumbled upon the show not being a regular listener - kind of strange, but there it was. I hardly watched TV by that time, but I did catch a few glimpses of what happened and saw more on the Internet.

I also eased my mind a little by listening to XFM UK on the internet - being my first year of having a computer and Internet service. They mentioned it as well, and to hear the DJ offer some kind words for The US remains one of my first good memories of having Internet service being able to hear radio from other areas of the world.

I was 9 at the time getting ready for school. Mom heard the news from someone who was living in NY at the time. I was kept home and my mom didn't go to work that day, she just watched the news and told me to stay in the house. I remember not understanding but being upset and when I went back to school there was an assembly all day about what had happened. The next few weeks were just... strange. I barely remember them but I do remember everyone being very distraught and worried.

This is going on a tangent but I found this interesting documentary about the rescue workers, fire fighters, victims and others in the area of ground zero have had serious repository illness and many different types of cancer. They refer to the repository coughing the world trade centre cough (as many people had never had asthma or other problems prior to the event). If you're interested, check it out. It's really sad to be honest. These people risked their lives to save victims and end up ill many years later. The source of the illnesses comes from heavy metals from computers, machines and light bulbs.
