Iv got one personally. I saved up money for 3 months and just spent it all on a new handgun. Last night I had to mooch drinks off other people at the bar because I have nothing left.

Guess what, I've never even touched a real gun in my life and I bet most people in the UK haven't either. It's not like I've got anything against guns, it's just that they're an alien concept to us. On the one hand I agree with the idea that they do make excellent defence tools in the correct hands, but on the flip side of the coin, it does see a society potentially running down a slippery path if guns were embraced here.

The British Empire's tyranny over the world exceeded and was far more immoral than ours is today. I don't think they're much of a shining example of how to run things as a superpower.

But then I'm speaking to someone with a ton of harbored, probably unwarranted, resentment toward America.... so in one ear, out the other

I agree with you, but you do realise that the crack about the British Empire was nothing more than just a crack, or did you actually take what I said seriously?

Really............strange that considering that nearly all my favourite bands, a host of my favourite films and most of my favourite authors happen to be from your neck of the woods.

I don't know about all of that, all I was going off of was past posts of yours, and it's a prevalent mindset here with some British posters so I'd bet it's a common mindset in general in your neck of the woods

but we've officially gone :offtopic:

I won't defend American gun laws cause they suck and yours are better

You have to realise that Brits are very different from you guys. We're sarcy and we like to criticise and complain about things, and anybody is game. I was going to go on about the USA being a burger culture instead of a gun culture, but that's off topic and it might upset a few burger munchers on here, so I refrained from doing so, aren't I a nice chap.:D

They are better, because only nasty farmers and proper gangsters have guns here.

I can take a fat joke or two (being 150 lbs makes it easy :ar_15s:)

but some of the stuff said is less joking and more outright malice (thinking like that Boston bombing thread)

butthead aka 216 09-22-2013 05:46 PM

burgers and guns both rule

heard ppl usin the recent navy shooting as some kind of bad example on why we shouldnt have guns. i lol'd. who do you think stopped the guy from killin more ppl?? spoiler: good guy with a gun.

like i said im all for expanded background checks and stuff, dont really understand why repubs are so strongly against it and it cant pass thru congress

No reference was intended here towards fat people at all, I'm far too polite for that. I'll have you know though that the fast food culture here, if anything is worse than ever, literally some families live on fast food as they're too lazy to cook.

That was a malicious thread and for that reason I steered well clear of it after seeing how it was going.
