I think it's funny that everyone wants to criticize other countries all of the time. It reminds me of politicians who criticize the workings of the economy, human rights, or other things in Europe for example, when some of the things they mentioned work much better than they do here. It seems to me that people don't like change, which is fine. And my argument is not that any change is better than no change, but rather that positive change and recognition of stay-at-home and non-working moms is better than ignoring them. I think that it is interesting, also, that many of the critics seems to be male, non-married, without children, republican or more than one of the above. On that note, I'm not saying that the change will be great, what I was commenting on was the recognition of those who are generally ignored. Thank you for your assumptions, everyone, that I was attempting to change the subject! |
