Even when you put it that way, I could still go for a steak.

And also you putting it that way makes this statement no less wrong. We are omnivores. We eat plants and meat. Meat is good for you. So...eating the flesh of dead animals is NOT bad for you.

I wouldn't go so far as to say meat is good for you, obviously in moderation it isn't too bad for you. However idk if being an omnivore extends to meat that has been cured in pink salt/prague powder, then hung and dried for weeks at a time, then smoked and/or seared.

Well, that isn't the only way to eat meat...yeah, there are plenty of ways to make it bad for you.

I should qualify that when I say meat I mean pork/red meat. I'll eat the heck out of some fish and poultry.

The protein part is not be bad for you but all the other stuff is, the bacterial & viral part is, and every other anti-biotic they pump into live stock. Nitrates appear naturally in vegetables... so is the OP justifiable in her concern that they appear in meat? j/c
