I don't much care how long I live but, like you, I'm not going to ruin my health just to consume emotionally comforting poisons. As for bros, I'd rather they keep their disgusting feeding habits away from me. Maybe that's why I don't maintain close relationships very often. I guess my point is, I'll stick with the carcinogens that I'm forced to consume just by living among human societies, and stay away from the ones that I can choose to avoid. Eating processed meats and, to a lesser extent, GMO foods seems silly to me. Are they really so yummy?

I'm quite familiar with this. It sucks too, because I liked processed meats. Mainly smoked ham, salami, and hot dogs (only beef franks... especially if they're very garlic-y). I don't have them very often, but I do like them.
EDIT: After doing some cursory research, I've found you'd have to eat a pound and a half of processed meats a week. I definitely don't.

I read an article that claimed GMOs pose no specific risk to consumers or the environment and are overregulated. So even if you did eat more than a pound a half of processed meats in a week. You would be fine. Genetically modified crops are overregulated, food science expert says
