It seems like anybody with Chechen connections is a potential terrorist these days, but most Chechen terror groups tend to direct their acts of agression to Russia. This is the first I've seen directed at the USA.

Can't argue with that. If the younger kid was 9 when he moved, you might understand a lesser link. But living in a country for your first 17 and most formative years...Still, as Unknown Soldier says, unusual for Chechens to target the U.S. Perhaps the reporter meant there was less of a link to terrorist organisations in Chechnya, which makes sense as they have a more localised agenda. But the reporter himself seemed a bit...I dunno, immature or inappropriate? Starting the sentence with "Ahem" for instance.

Yeah exactly. My boyfriend has been here for three years now but most of his family and friends are still in Serbia. You never lose your connection to places you've lived.

Where did that report come from? There are about 5000 law enforcement officials crawling the area. I don't know how he would "make a statement." He's on the run.

It came over the Boston Police scanner

He could also make a statement online with twitter or something but that's just a plain stupid thing to do

It looks like they think they may have the rat on the run in Watertown.

All hell has already broken loose, because of that asshole's son. Their father can go fuck himself.

Right ... so does that imply that, should this murdering prick die, his father will take up their "cause" to avenge him? Or is he saying there will be repercussions against America? ****ing stupid thing to say really, considering the hurt that little wanker has already caused so many families in Boston. Who the hell cares if he dies, and if that's seen as some sort of threat then the father should be arrested.

Agree it's better if he's captured alive so that motive can be ascertained, but put up against the possibility he'll kill more while on the run, I think the "mad dog" solution is the only one: put the mother****er down now, before it's too late.

Wonder what Russia has to say about any of this, or if they've been asked?
