Jansz, delighted you and yours are ok. Anyone heard from Big3? Anyone else here from Boston I should worry about?

Leads at this point, or still nothing?

He made that post way before I told everyone to take it somewhere else. No comments were made afterwards.

Hermione said he posted something on Facebook a few hours afterwards, so I think he's okay!

Great news! (Sorry, that probably seemed a little disrespectful, given the subject, but it's good to know your friends are okay) --- is that it in our little band of brothers and sisters? Are we all accounted for now? It's easy three thousand miles away to forget this impacts people on a direct level a lot more than it does me, even if it does still shock, sadden and disgust me: it's like suddenly remembering you had relatives in Kobe or near Sandy Hook or something....

I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it.

Well this thread was a fun read. Obviously, yesterday was an absolute tragedy. But overall the city is doing very well to keep things moving. Massive charity runs were held tonight and innumerate fund raisers have sprung up for the victims families. One of the women who works with us lost her daughter who I'd guess to be 24-ish from photos. We also lost an 8-year old from the neighborhood I live in who's father was running. (I posted a photo of him below).

It smells to me like a deranged lone wolf. But as a lot of people have said, the good really showed their true colors and outweighed the bad. Here are some things that have cropped up in the last few days that I thought were really great. I love this city, its got a character you just can't replicate in other places. Everyone is really pulling together in such a seamless way.

From Patton Oswalt (taken from an article)
Quote:
“I don’t know what’s going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem,” the “King of Queens” actor wrote. “But here’s what I DO know. If it’s one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet.”
Oswalt wrote that when the September 11th attacks occurred, “my reaction was, ‘Well, I’ve had it with humanity,’ but I was wrong.’” He continued that the lesson he’s learned is that the majority of the world’s population “stands against that darkness, and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and more importantly, the damage they wreak.”
After pointing out that “if humanity were inherently evil, we’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago,” Oswalt concluded by offering a piece of advice for those looking for support.
“When you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye,” he wrote. “Think, ‘The good outnumber you, and we always will.’”

The Meaning of the Boston Marathon

Edit: Thanks for the concern guys, but you're going to have to try harder to get rid of me.
