There was an incident in Cali years ago where a guy decided to drive his car into an elementary school playground and killed 12 children at an Orange County Elementary School.

Gun Laws would only deter normal citizens like myself. Do you really think a criminal is gonna give up his gun, that would just leave Police Officers and Criminals packing a weapon.
I hate to get into this... but cars and guns are kind of different, cars serve an extremely important purpose other than just inflicting harm. It's got to be about practicality, obviously we can't ban every possible harmful object.
