No, of course not, monumental moments never represent the whole situation. No matter how low the statistics get, however, I still feel there are too many thoughtless deaths due to the access we have to guns.

I have no idea. What's even the point of it anyway? Each and every family member (mother, father, brother and sister and extended family; and freinds) is going to carry than pain in their heart for the rest of their lives.

The point myself and Freebase were making is that we find the way he is acting to be very unusual. A grieving father, who looks like he is joking around before he dramatically changes before the camera, where he then starts getting into character from his initial laughter, he becomes upset and shaky.

The right sign implies that if someone was there legally carrying a firearm and able to use it effectively and responsibly, may provide either a deterrent or the resistance necessary to save lives until the police finally roll in.

I'm astounded that this isn't simple logic understood by all. It's not making a case that little kids should be walking around kindergarten with guns all willy-nilly... It's making a case that trained, responsible individuals should be allowed to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Why does everyone think the argument is about just saying "Oh yea, no problem, everyone bring guns to school! More guns equals more protection no matter who is carrying them!!!!".
It's not and never has been about that.
If you're OK with police having guns for the protection of the public, you should be ok with them, or civilian equivalents, standing guard for the safety of them in schools as well. Not agreeing with that makes even less sense than what you're insinuating.
My comment was a bit of a juggle with the concept of tragedy, but fair enough I see where you're coming from.

There are a few problems concerning the sign. First, firearms on premises near children would be an issue and could result in accidents. Personally I wouldn't feel safe sending a child somewhere with an aggressive sign that could cause complications on either side. It's not an encouraging atmosphere for children, also considering the paranoia of the situation, and the accessibility to firearms are significantly heightened. The sign doesn't actually clearly state any prohibition of firearms, which again, does not enforce a safe atmosphere regarding.

In prospect this promotes further acceptance of firearms that I believe should be fought against. The sign promotes a negative connotation by instigating that a general statement of harm will result in a dangerous, life threatening situation.

It just might be his temperment - how he reacts emotionally. Everybody is different, some people have strong emotional reactions and others mild reactions.

I think it's rotten to say someone if faking because he doesn't react the way one expects he should - like conspiracy theorist.

Well I wouldn't consider myself to be a conspiracy theorist, but I still find that guys reaction odd.

I can't speak for him, but I tend to smile and chuckle when I'm being yelled at and I'm intimidated. Maybe its some sort of defense mechanism, but I can't control it.

Ah yes, because no thoughtless deaths ever happened before firearms were invented.
