It looks like a dead heat actually. I won't get my votes in until 6 its gonna be an interesting day. Four swing states are gonna make all the difference. California is primarily a democratic vote, but where I live in orange county its primarily a republican dominated vote. My dad called today and said he wanted to let me know he cancelled my vote out. LOL

Burning Down

Socialism is already rooted into your society though, and in most democratic societies around the world for that matter. Socialism is alive and well in the US if you have:

• The military
• Public schools
• Publicly funded universities/other post-secondary institutions
• Pell grants for education (I don't think those exist anymore, right?)
• Highways and other transportation infrastructure
• Police/Fire/EMS
• The USPS
• FBI and CIA
• Jails
• Parks and beaches
• Public Transit
• IRS

I could go on and on... I don't get why some Americans are so afraid of socialism and hope that it ceases to exist. If you're using any of the above services, you're supporting socialism (hopping on the bus or mailing letters and parcels is socialist!!!!!). The only way to avoid it is to live completely off the grid, no mail, pay no taxes, don't ever go to school, don't go to parks or beaches... basically live as a shut-in. Oh, and don't vote - campaigns and everything that goes into an election is funded by your tax dollars.

That old 'socialist slogan' has been going around since the 1950s in the USA. We've had socialist govenernments in most Western European countries over the last five decades or so and none of us are commies! So why all the concern if some more socialist policies are implemented? In fact, Communism over the last decade is weaker than it has ever been.

I just realized that there was a poll and no surprises for the people that voted for Romney.
