Default Quick thought on eternity

If eternity exists, which I can't see how it couldnt in some sense, considering that we're here — then due to the nature of infinity anything imaginable has occurred and will occur an infinite number of times in (presumably) an infinite number of universes with (presumably) varying laws of physics. This also means that someone just like you, with the exact brain you have at this very moment, has existed and will exist again, only immediately after reading this post will be struck by lightning.

Just bull****ting really. Interesting thought though right?

That is an interesting thought. I wonder if the me that got struck by lighting is thinking "and some lucky bastard escaped this tragedy by being on the other side of the eternity."

But here's one thing that I'ven't ever really understood. If we've come to accept the fact that there is eternity I don't see how we've also come to accept that this means everything will happen within that eternity. It could very well be true, but it couldn't it just as easily be the few sporadic instances within eternity that fill the void of stagnant existence?

Or is there some generally accepted scientific theory that I'mn't aware of that makes me seem a bit daft for thinking this way? I'm not too educated on science, so these are just an untrained minds thoughts.

I like the thought Conan. I take it you're a subscriber to the Multiverse Theory then?

I don't know if it's an actual scientific "thing", but there's always the Law of Averages that says that on a long enough timeline, anything that can happen will happen.

It's the nature of infinity, as demonstrated in the Infinite Monkey thought experiment.

There are so many schools of thought, I'm not really sure to be honest.

Thanks, I guess I've just been thinking quite a bit lately.
