The Big Solar Storm Headed Our Way Is Only a Preview of Worse to Come - Alexis Madrigal - Technology - The Atlantic
The biggest solar storm since 2005 is headed our way. Is the 2012 prophesy being fulfilled? I'm sure some are thinking so. Is it time to start accepting the apocalypse of 2012? |
I hope it takes out the internet, I needs more readin' dun read.

Lol.

Well, we survived 2005. Since it's an 11-year cycle, we've survived quite a few actually.
|
I don't feel threatened by it. I just know that since it's 2012, a lot of people will see it as the prophecy being fulfilled. While I don't believe in the 2012 doomsday, I guess it's been shoveled into my mind so much that I consider it to be a possibility. But in no way should solar storms be a sign of the apocalypse, (unless they are so bad that they could cause the apocalypse) it's not like we haven't experienced them before.

I think people should remember that **** happens every year. Tsunamis, 9/11, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, war, pestilence, death and famine. Chances are some **** will happen in 2012 as well.
May be worth pointing out that in modern history, solar storms haven't really been much of a problem. To the everyday man, they've produced some lovely aurora borealis and that's about it. |
Is it weird that I hope the answer is yes?
If there's a deity, things will be rectified and the deserving will be absolved. If not, the Earth could feasibly have a new life which isn't chock full of human interference and ****-uppance. |

*face-palm* Cheap beer and I don't coexist peacefully. I don't even know if what I posted was coherent. |
