Oh I think you can, since it's a topic you've already discussed before in this very thread. You clearly know what it means, pretending you don't is just another example of you doing it.

I'm not sure if this is a religion yet and I've actually looked into starting a religion based on this very concept. I believe our expectations and handed down traditions about God are corrosive to modern faith and have been causing a lot of people to turn away from God because of false and outdated teachings in most organized religions. I believe in God, but not in religion or most holy books. There are too many doctrines and agendas for my taste. What I believe almost exactly mirrors what you said at the start of this thread...that God is like a master chemist/physist and he had the knowledge and power to put all of this in motion, but that is most likely the extent of his participation. Once he put all of this in motion then we are just along for the ride. People expect answered prayers and miracles. People expect God to have a hand in every aspect of what happens. And I just don't believe this is true. God gave me my life(through my mom and dad and ever ancestor I've ever had), and for that I love God and I am greatful. I further believe that science is not against God, but can be used to point to the precision and design of the universe. Anyway....I'd like to start a very open religion that is very tolerant of all beliefs and would never have a set of doctrines that you MUST follow or you get tossed out on your ass and labeled a heritic, it would also be completely non-profit. But the main gist of the religion is a more modern look at how things came to be and where to accurately place responsibility for how things are and what to really expect out of God and your fellow man. And this would have to be a global religion that welcomes all. I don't think a lot of people realize that every religion that exists today was written in a CERTAIN region for a CERTAIN people...you guys do know that Christianity with its roots in the laws of moses started in Isreal, Jersuleum, this region....by Hebrews FOR Hebrews right? They didn't even know north america existed. Everything in the bible is about Isreal and what is going to happen to that group of people...yet you have people here in the states talking about 'I'm christian'...WHY?? That book wasn't written for you! Jesus says it at least once 'I am here for the lost sheep of Isreal and no one else.' A true religion should be for everyone. Should take all gender, race, lifestyle and honor every person that wants to develop a relationship with God. |
