Sure, but the reasoning is akin to if you found a strawberry, didn't know what it was, and said to yourself, "This [strawberry] is red and some kind of fruit; I know that tomatoes are red and a kind of fruit, therefore this must be a tomato."

Although I'm a little more hesitant to dismiss certain concepts and theories than the typical skeptic, the trend of filing everything under quantum mechanics in an effort to give it some sort of scientific credibility is rather annoying.

I definitely agree with this.

Regarding quantum as explanations for stuff, although I'm hardly even a quantum novice, I think of it a bit like this. If the world as we know it was a page of words written in ink, quantum theory would be the study of the very tiniest ink blotches on that page. People would think that perhaps these tiniest ink blotches make up some words - and yes, they do. Get enough of them and they make up the words on the page, the ones they knew all along.

It's like people think there's something more without realizing that the macrophysics we relate to every day is the result of the quantum stuff.

Tore, what exactly is your job as a biologist?

I'm educated as an ecologist, but currently, I am working as a technician in the insect collection at a zoological museum. Sorting, databasing, some identification of unidentified insects to species and so on. I guess I'm becoming an entomologist.

I'm not doing any research at the moment if that's what you're wondering.

Just curious as to what your profession in the field was.

Here is an experiment for all the scientists out there. Science is gaining knowledge through observation right? God promised in all the "holy books" that if you walked in his ways, your life will change for the better and you would see a "new world" the promised land, a land of abundance. So a true scientist would want to get the bottom of it and once and for all find out if its real or not.
What does it mean to walk in his ways? To live with love/forgiveness.
How do you do this? You follow your spirit(how you feel)
This is the experiment: Any time the name of someone or something goes through your head and you feel less than love for them you stop and ask your mind how to feel love for them, and your mind will take you in that direction and show you how and practice those thoughts until you FEEL them, you have to become the defense attorney so to speak for anything that pisses you off. However your mind will take you wherever you point it, the ego/devil will try to justify you being pissed and being pissed doesn't feel good so why would you argue justify bad feelings. How you feel has to become the most important thing in your life, and your intention has to be to love everything that that pissed you off. And if you make a decision from the heart this day forward to choose to see just the good in everything and everyone, because that is what we want people to do to us, you will see evidence of things getting better in your life.
It all has to do with faith, let me ask you all this, if you don't first believe that God is a possibility or is real are you ever going to seek to find out. And if your mind is closed to it you arent a scientist, how can you find out if something is real if you aren't first open to the possibility it is real. If the Wright bros didn't first believe or have faith that flying was possible would there be airplanes? And if they didn't first have faith(believing in something you can't see) would their mind have showed them how to do it?
We were made to love, you know that cause when you are thinking thoughts of love and appreciation you feel good and when you aren't you feel bad, and science has proven when you are feeling good emotions your body is producing all of the chemicals for a strong immune system, and when you aren't feeling good emotions your body is not. Maybe instead of pursuing the worldly knowledge that will not change our life's we should try to figure ourselves out, and let how we feel be our guide and not tolerate feeling anything but love, and its funny cause in the bible God said if you walked in love you would have health to the marrow of your bones and science is slowly figuring out that this is true and this knowledge has been here for 1000s of years and science is just now figuring it out.
So see for yourselves people, practice it and see where your mind can take you, like it says in the ancient texts, " we have the mind of God". And see for yourself if God is true to his word. Yall should check out the book "The biology of belief" cause what you believe dictates how you feel and a belief is nothing more than a thought you choose to keep thinking. And how you feel means everything in this life. Our thoughts have physical power, Peace

Sorry for the double post but I just have to say this, but to form an opinion, I think we all would agree, that it would be foolish to form one before trying all avenues first isn't that what a true scientist would do? I belive the scientific method is flawed by even having a hypothesis you should have no opinion until the experiment is done, cause people will tend to prove themselves right over finding the truth. And what quantum physics proves is that by your intention the molecules that make everything up will change what they do. Could that be why for every study there is another saying the opposite. Two different groups of people perform the same experiment and have different results, could it be because they both have different intentions they have different results? Which leads you to ask if the statement Jesus said " whatsoever you believe will be done to you" and if our belief can change our world doesnt that prove there is something out responds to our desires. The consensus of science today doesn't leave any room for intention to effect the outside world and there have been many experiments which show that that couldn't be further from the truth. So until you try all ways with an open mind and see for yourself I guess you will never know. Time to become true a scientist. Get rid of negative emotion let love in and see if the world treats u differently, try the way of love w/o judgement then you will know for sure! Love to all! The merciful will obtain mercy.

^It's a good argument in that debating against everything that is wrong with is way too much of an effort for most.

I promise if you do it you will feel a profound change on the inside
