Aside from being the title of one of Aleister Crowley's more infamous books, the number 777 correlates to "the Flaming Sword" and "the world of shells" (Qliphoth).

Simply this number represents the spiritual evolution up the Tree of Life.
There are 22 pathways that connect that connect the spheres, or Sephiroth of the Tree, and each have a specific Hebrew letter, and each Hebrew letter has its own number value. When the numbers of the Hebrew letters of the pathways traced by the Flaming Sword are added together, they total 777.

If I can be flippant here for a moment (Hi, I'm Flippant, please to meet you!) why is it do you think that God spends so much time in jail? I mean, people are ALWAYS finding him in prison! Does he live there, or is he just doing some sort of community outreach to the prisoners? And also, how can he be lost? Isn't he omnipotent? Hard to imagine God staggering out of the local and not knowing the way home...

1. Murder and rape (in that order) a family of 6? God forgives you. Now you can pawn off the moral implications of your actions, and what kind of a person you are, on a loving god who has washed away your sins. When you finish your sentence and are free, and do it again, then you can simply say you "backslid"! (or the devil made you do it)
Moral, ethical and humanitarian implications be damned!

2. God has the power to make himself so drunk, that even he can't manage to find his way home. Obviously.

Right, I see. So then God also has the power to forget he's God, get into a bar-fight and be locked up for the night, where of course, the flotsam of the world "find him". Yeah, makes sense, as much as anything in this world does.

For me, "God" is the highest level of consciousness that is capable of being achieved. I believe that the energy of everything and everyone in the universe is connected. Souls are created from this energy and choose an incarnation to take. Each incarnation teaches them lessons, thus raising their consciousness. When your incarnation dies, your soul goes back into the energy of the universe where you choose another incarnation. As you grow in consciousness, the more incarnations are available for you to choose, as the higher one vibrate at higher frequencies and the lower frequency incarnations cannot discern them. Our goal is to attain "God consciousness." Not sure what happens once we do, as very few ever have. So in essence, anything and everything has the ability to be "God."

i believe the consciousness will go to certain planets after you die, depending on how you live, the consciousness will reside on whatever life-choices you have made

(got that from Arthur C. Clarke)

yes, that's quite close to what I believe also - that God used to be "mortal"
