Which is my point, really. If we could rely on everyone there who agrees with us to back us up, there wouldn't be a problem, it's just that everyone (including myself) has an "it's not my business" filter, which stops us from getting involved. Because of that, it's dangerous to speak out, because you on your own isn't a particularly strong army. So long as that attitude is prevalent, the "I don't give a ****" minority will never shut up.

Well.. why? It's pretty much accepted that anything anyone says in public is going to elicit at most a "shame on you" from someone as they leave the area so as to avoid getting hit. They know that noone is likely to start on them, because everyone else is too well behaved :P

So basically she was arrested for being a bitch. That's actually pretty messed up if you think about it. People like her disgust me but I really don't think it should be a crime to be an asshole.

i think it depends on where in Britain you are
i was in Cardiff for two years and never had a racial incident - except for some chav shouting "Saddam Hussein" which may or may not have been directed at me, which is vague since i'm not Middle Eastern whereas i was in London for a week and had TWO racial incidents - some lady saying "i'm not of their kind" in McDonlad's Baker Street to her kid and some chavs shouting "Ching Chong Chinaman" at the Embankment |

Ching Chong Chinaman sounds like a song and I`m surprised that happened in Baker Street, its very much a case of spot the Brit there. |

mebbe it's probably because Baker Street was so multi-culturalist that the lady was slighted by so many "foreigners" |

That part of central London (Baker Street) is extremely multi-cultural in that you`ll find people from all corners of the world, instead of just having one dominant immigrant group like say in Brixton or Southall. Edgware Road though which is not too far away from Baker Street, must rank as the most multi-cultural road in London, along with possibly being the longest road in London as well. |
