Are you kidding me? The prosecution was weak. The motive was ridiculous and they didn't even attempt to back up the assassination of character they attempted. Not to mention the forensics were non-existent. To me, it definitely looked like an accident that the whole family was involved in covering up. But that doesn't even matter to me. If you don't have sufficient forensic evidence, you shouldn't convict. Period.

I think she probably did it but but I agree with Conan that, as far as I can tell, the prosecution didn't prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. If I had been on the jury I think I would have had to find her not guilty just like these people did.

I'm sorry, that was my original thought also, I should have explained myself a little clearer. I find myself wanting to question, "Would this have happened anywhere else in the world besides here in the states"? A no guilty verdict.

Right decision, and it's good to see the jury had their heads on straight. People are way too easily tied up with their emotions (although I can see why they would be watching those clowns on CNN give their views on the case). I thought Baez did a great job in his closing arguments outlining that.
The evidence just wasn't there to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she did it. Do I think she did it? Probably, but it's just pure speculation. |

Sure , it would have happened the same way anywhere else in the world. As long as the jury was able to look past their feelings about the matter and stick to just the facts of the case

I already posted this opinion in a different thread, but this is a good example of our courts. It seems like the court of public opinion is way too strong in this country. 12 Angry Men should be shown to all jurors before trial.
