I think the majority of them just want to phone home.

I am not of the opinion that they DON'T exist at all. Far from it. I personally think there is life out there somewhere but due to the huge vastness of space it is almost certain that we won't be able to come into contact with it.

Unless we can get probes to the many moons out there that appear to have water or carbon based materials (Io, Titan, Europa etc) and said probes be able to penetrate the various surfaces then it is always speculation.

Time travel into the past by whomever and whatever has so far seemed impossible due to natures law. It just doesn't allow it according to our understanding of physics.

This does not mean that it is impossible but in our lifetime and our children's lifetime? We probably wont encounter any of this.

Basically we don't know **** really and it will take a long long time to begin to understand the universe. It is great fun trying though!

This is how I feel in a nutshell. I definitely believe there are UFOs, there is (debatably) a great deal of footage of them, some of which also captures large amounts of eye witnesses, and I don't think it's feasible that all the mass-sightings are staged. I don't particularly believe that these events are alien visitors, and I certainly don't find it a possibility that they're time-travelers (their very presence would set off a chain of paradoxes that are simply at fault with the nature of the Universe). What are they? I don't know.

I can not accept the idea of ETIs exist without any real scientific proof, so until then when it is produced I am of the opinion they do not exist at all.

I pretty much agree with Neapolitans final conclusion. It's most in line with the reasoning I try to apply everywhere else, that I not believe ETs exist until I have scientific reason to.

Doesn't mean they don't exist either though :P

WAIT WAIT WAIT!

Was the title of this thread changed from "What is your explanation of UFOs" to "What is your explanation of ETs" ??? Because those would be totally different conversations...

it's just a heresy. a fallacy. there's no truth into it.

Actually...

I personally think that EBE's would easily explain most religious figures throught histories (Gods, dieties, their miracles, etc.)

There are so many stories about "Gods" that come down from the sky, do things that are out of this world (no pun intended), ascend back into the sky (heavens), and promise to return one day. From American Indians to the Maya and Aztecs, the Greek and Roman Gods, Jesus, the Buddha, Krishna, all stories that would be more easily explained if you view the acts as being performed by someone/something from outside of this world who has other-worldy powers.
