We were told that body cameras would be the answer to police brutality. All it did was create tax payer-funded snuff films.

Shaver exited unarmed, put his hands up, and did his best to comply with the demands of police, who ordered him to lay down on the ground. Soon after that, Officer Philip Brailsford, 26, shot and killed him with a service weapon on which he had etched, "You’re f*cked.”
There were 5 heavily armed, armor wearing Mesa police officers in that hallway up against a man and a woman who didn't appear to be armed at all.

The man continually tried to comply to the cop's demands (he was drunk at the time) who almost seemed to be toying with him. Lie down! Hands up! Hands behind your head! Move forward! Don't talk just comply!

Why couldn't 4 of the cops keep guns trained while one cop moved forward and handcuffed the dude?

Murder plain and simple. The status quo for cop training has to change. But it won't.

Oh, and the judge agreed with the defense and would not allow the jury to hear or see anything about the etched "You're f*cked" on the killer's assault style weapon.

Inadmissible. Why?????

Disgusting in every way.

This one has to be the last fucking straw. How more blatant and on-purpose can a MURDER / EXECUTION be?

Even CNN has it right this time!

Daniel Shaver's shooting by police officer was an avoidable execution (Opinion) - CNN

Quote:

Many of the police shootings that have drawn attention to the inappropriate and all too often deadly actions of officers illustrate the role of race and implicit bias in their devastating outcomes. The case of Philip Brailsford illustrates something different -- a young, inexperienced police officer filled with hubris who made a series of preventable errors that resulted in the infuriatingly "legal" execution of a man.

In the numerous officer-involved shootings I've reviewed, I can often provide a sensible explanation for an officer's actions or find benefit of the doubt to apply.
There are neither here.

Just look at this dead-behind-the-eyes motherfucker. He had the words "YOU'RE FUCKED" engraved on the rifle that he used to execute DANIEL SHAVER. And that engraved rifle was APPROVED by his superiors, who are paid by OUR tax dollars.

I just can't get over this!!!

They absolutely had multiple chances to end it without killing this guy. This is why we don't trust police, because this happens too much.

[MERIT] 12-12-2017 04:26 AM

There is a picture with his address going around online, but he recently moved from that location. I hope no one attacks that house as revenge, thinking he still lives there. #DueDilligence

I hope they don't attack the guy at all. Violence never solves anything. They might get a wake up call if they start rioting against the police in Mesa though.

Mesa's pretty conservative so I doubt it. Joe Arpaio was running his bs with a lot of support right down the road in Maricopa.

Let it be known that that kid wasn't the one being abusive and vocally aggressive and ordering the guy to do weird ****. It was his ranking officer that was escalating the situation the whole time. He pulled the trigger under the stress.
