the purpose is not always to be something that is large.
remember, every journey begins with a simple step.

Why don't you just admit that you have no earthly idea what that purpose is and therefore that you don't even know if there is a purpose. Or that just by virtue of his being "God", he can even give you a purpose.

nope, i can't admit something that's not me.
nobody knows what our purpose is until we fulfilled it.
only then can we say that indeed, we live with purpose.
i myself have already found my purpose so that's why I know, God gives us purpose here on earth.
that's the very reason why he created us.

do we even need a "purpose"?

i believe everything is predestined, so i'm just doing the mechanical thing of whatever fate makes me do

that's why we have free will.
free will to decide if we want to act out on our purpose or completely ignore it.

In other words, until you've decided what it is you want to do with your life, you don't have a purpose. This is a secular idea that you have wrapped in religious babble. "Purpose" is a human invention that has absolutely no meaning unless we humans agree that it has meaning.
