Well to be honest I'm a bit down in the dumps. I have been getting regular flash backs of the walls splitting in my flat and screams ringing in my ears. My whole life has been chucked into the dumpster. I have to start all over again: a new home, new job, new relationships/friends, new city, new doctors, new possessions. But I am so grateful anyhow to be alive. The flat I was in is 120 years-old. My family are putting money together to send me to Australia for a week to Sydney/Gold Coast. I can't wait!!
Cheese how are you going? Where the hell is Richard (Merkaba), I can't contact him.

That's nice of your family .
You are probably lucky to be alive so I can see how that has a huge impact on you. You think you can get over this by yourself? Sounds like an incredibly shocking thing to witness... I sure hope Merkaba is allright. Has anyone heard from him so far?

I'm going to get counselling next week, this is the second time I've been through a traumatic earthquake disaster and I really need support. How many people go through this **** twice?

Most people who live there I guess...
I'm glad you're getting some help. I didn't want to tell you to do so, that's up to you in the end. But I can imagine this ****s up your life pretty badly and I do think it's a good thing you're not trying to get through this on your own. This is not my forum, but as far as I'm concerned: Feel free to talk about it as much as you need. I don't think of it as nagging or whining . It might help just a little. I hope you're back on track soon. I'm really very sorry for you. I realize it's a completely different timezone there but I'm going to sleep now. I hope you can relax a bit and have a good night of sleep the coming night. Take care!

A word from me and he'd make sure you were well looked after. I'd give you a contact number, but unfortunately for you, he's coming home in a couple of weeks. Not seen him for 10 years! Hope you're well, Vanilla. |

Gday guys, it was actually the earthquake that made me think of coming on here to see if everyone else had got through it ok.
Work is rooted. The whole car yard is warped and broken and one of our main sheds will need to be bulldozed. I have a property closer to the epicentre thats unhealthy but at least no one seriously hurt. Death toll at 123 now. Have you moved out of town for good Vanilla?

I know it's not really a time for humour. But this made me smile. Hopefully it'll make you guys smile, too. It's the New Zealander and Aussie way, really.
During the bushfires a couple of years ago a couple of my kiwi friends really helped me and my friends out, so I've already made my donation to the crisis appeal for Christchurch |
