Now that I see this topic (again).
My ex-girlfriend told me her boyfriend never really hugs her. Yes they lay together while watching TV, but they never lay together just for the sake of it, while talking or listening to music. There's just a bit of hanging together and sex, but not actual cuddling. And she hates it because... Yeah well, I think I may have turned her into a cuddle monster. Anyway, she wanted to know whether other people (guys/girls) lay together just to be together with no reason to be there, just for the sake of it. Perhaps listening to some music, but no particular reason to lie together. Anyone?

Depends on the people. I'm sure there are people out there who love each other dearly but don't like that sort of constant physical contact. It's a matter of preference, and physicaly contact isn't the only way of showling love.
However, personally, I'm (kinda) like you. With my gf, I'd certainly be hugging/cuddling her as much as I can in private, especially when I haven't seen her in a while. However, at the same time I'd happily spend an evening just talking to her from a different sofa in the room while we're both playing games, and in public we tend not to cuddle TOO much as it tends to not necessarily make other people uncomfortable, but it does affect the balance of a conversation.

Also, I guess I know a lot of guys in theatre (yes, straight guys even!) and hugging is really commonplace amongst all of the theatre folk. It's just a way of greeting, for both genders. The straight guys do more of a "bro grab" most of the time, but at auditions when they've not seen each other in a while, they definitely hug. I may just know really huggy people, though. Then again, I've even seen biker guys in bars around here hug their friends. Maybe it's a Southern thing, although it seems weird that it would be.

Allright, I should probably add; In a relationship.
When you are in a relationship for quite some time (say longer than half a year), do you enjoy laying together just for the sake of it? That's pretty much the question. I'm somehow only huggy for girls. I think it's a cultural thing. And I mean huggy in the s_k way, not in the Dirty way .
