Are the Egyptians going to Ceausescu Mubarak?

What say you?

Janszoon 02-03-2011 08:17 AM

I say no.

OccultHawk 02-03-2011 08:20 AM

I don't think so either but it would make for good TV.

djchameleon 02-03-2011 08:22 AM

could you go into a little more detail about what you mean? Isn't Ceausescu the name of a Romanian president?

OccultHawk 02-03-2011 08:38 AM

He was a dictator and they had a revolution and killed him on Christmas Day.

They couldn't have just given him coal?

Scarlett O'Hara 02-03-2011 04:12 PM

I've edited the poll, now it makes sense!

Pssst. He meant will the Egyptian people 'do a Ceausescu' as in will Mubarak be executed by his own people.

Ceausescu Mubarak isn't his name.

No, it makes less sense now. The original question was asking if the people going to kill him, not force him to step down. He was using "Ceausescu" as a verb.

Edit: Thanks for changing it back. :)

I feel sad that my poll needed to be dumbed down.

He should worry less about a Ceausescu and worry more about a fatwa like El Sadat

poppie 02-06-2011 04:42 PM

that's the most ignorant shit I have read today.....congrats.

TockTockTock 02-07-2011 06:24 PM

I can't believe this is even a forum topic. Of course they won't execute him. Egypt is the most civilized nation in the Middle East, and you can tell by seeing that the majority of their massive protest is peaceful. All they want is a change in their government and leadership. If anything, Mubarak will just leave the country or go into seclusion.

FYI: About 300 people have died so far.

Sure there have been some incidents (brought on by thugs hired by Mubarak, I might add), but on the whole the protesters have just sort of sat there and protested.

poppie 02-10-2011 05:29 PM

I just herd on cnn that their leader Mubarak is not backing down. he is staying put
until his time in office runs out,is this true. this is about the biggest protest i have
seen so far! in my life i am waiting to see what tomorrow will bring.

djchameleon 02-10-2011 06:38 PM

Mubarak is so stubborn lol. He totally pulled a syke! on so many people. They thought he was stepping down to give it up to the VP but nope, he's all like syke! I was just playing ya'll.

I read the same thing on an LA Times article, and he was afraid that the Islamic religion would take over the government, if I remember correctly.

djchameleon 02-11-2011 09:39 AM

Yay he finally stepped down. Party at my place later tonight!!!!

You are all welcome, all fucking welcome!

I'll hold off partying until I see who is going to replace him.

djchameleon 02-11-2011 09:43 AM

Isn't the Vice President going to replace him?

I don't think so. They're planning to get rid of the current government according to CNN and right now they're putting the military in charge I believe.

s_k 02-11-2011 11:00 AM

Wow, the title of this topic is now"Are the Egyptians going to Ceausescu Mubarak?"
The Poll is called "Are the Egyptians going to Ceausescu (execute) Mubarak?"

What went wrong? Neither makes an awful lot of sense :D
Eitherway, I didn't think it would happen, but then it happened :)

Kinda Blue 02-11-2011 11:05 AM

Congratulations to the people of Egypt!

But no, I don't think they're going to execute him. :)

s_k 02-11-2011 11:07 AM

If they wanted to do that they should have done that before he stepped down.

They both make sense. "Ceausescu" is being used as a verb. The phrasing of the title is just a shorter way of saying, "Are the Egyptians going to do to Mubarak what the Romanians did to Ceauşescu?" Vanilla added the word "execute" into the poll to help explain the meaning to people who didn't get it.

I think the VP is still in charge, he's been running most of the executive decisions for the past week or so anyways.

poppie 02-11-2011 05:33 PM

I wonder if this will cause a chain reaction
and make other countries
like iran start back up again!
congrats to egypt! you are free now well done.

Latest development here: Egypt's military dissolves parliament, suspends constitution - CNN.com

The military has now dissolved parliament and suspended the constitution. They say they'll relinquish power once elections are held but I guess we'll see. Militaries don't have a good historical record of doing that.
