Wow, that's very unfortunate. My prayers go out to all of those people struggling down there.

Queensland is quite a large state, it's probably about 7 times larger than the UK. So not all of it is affected by the floods, but a lot of it is, which makes the scale of the whole thing immense. And yeah I know what you mean mojo, you see images like this in the news all the time but I've never seen anything like this in the country that I live to this degree! You just assume stuff like this will never happen to you or your friends.

That's the scary thing, you never think it'll happen to you, but it often can .

I've been following it on the news every night, I really feel for the poor people affected by the floods. I consider Australians like close siblings so I am glad my country is helping the way they can by sending the Army over and raising funds.

Following it on the news here, too. It looks awful.
I had the idea this sort of thing never happened in Australia.

The floods have eased up but many suburbs are still underwater, people are starting to clean up the layer of mud that has covered the entire state and volunteers are coming from everywhere to clean up the mess. The death toll has only just climbed to 20 which is sad but comforting as it's not nearly as bad as the bushfires a couple of years ago that killed 200 people. But yeah they expect to find more bodies as the water clears.

Sad, sad.
