I think he would have to be quite slow not to realise

Unless he's one of those men who want their women to rely on them as it makes them feel "useful"

And yes, if you were being sarcastic at any point, I missed it. And yeah, it must be due to me being slow not due to the fact you can't read tone on the internet... it's why they invented things like these -

No **** we don't live in the early days, I figured I didn't need sarcasm when it was implicit in the fact that, you know, being codependent on someone else for your likelihood is unhealthy and DEMEANING....but YA KNOW

These women are divorced for other reasons than that, I don't know how ignorant you'd have to be to not be aware of such things.

Its been my experience the money aspect doesnt play as big of role as staying true. Meaning (without trying to have a sexist opinion) it just seems most modern day women are monagamously challenged these days. I think that plays a bigger role than the financial part. Personaly I like the traditional values of marriage, but at the same time. It would be a breath of fresh air for the woman to bring just as much to the table financially as well. I think money can easily corrupt each gender and be used for nothing more than leverage by both. When in all actuality it shouldnt be that way. I wouldnt find it threating if the woman made as much or more than me. More like thats all the more opputunity for us to prosper and aquire nice things for us and our children.

That part of your paragraph bothers me, because it doesn't acknowledge that men just as easily fail at fidelity.

Hence the previous part of saying (without having a sexist opinion on it). Of course men also are victims of their own weakness as well. There couldnt possibly be any way to prove one does it more than the other so it wouldnt be worth the debate. However I think with evolving of times in general it grows more and more easy and convenient for either. Falling off of the track of the traditional foundation of what marriage stood for. Like the use of facebook or just the internet or cell phones just technology in general. I think plays a role in this but it all comes back to your own personal morals. Overall it seems if it dont come easy let it go these days. The fact that women are more self sufficient may play a small role but not as much as the latter is all I was saying.

that's the main reason divorce rates are high. It seems like marriage counseling has gone by the waste side. People these days are too afraid to work out their problems and are worried that they are living in a loveless marriage just because someone else comes along that they fancy instead of trying to work through their problems.

Definatley agree with that man. Or the ones that do make it you wonder how. I dont know how many relationships I know of where everyone knows that the other is or has cheated. (Again without sounding to biased) around here its usually the female. But there are also plenty of cases of the male. Or sometimes its both. I think someone posted how it could just not be in human nature to not stay monagamous. I think for some people that could be true. It just seems the older I get the less marriage matters to people.
