No, I'm saying that the opening up of more opportunities for women to support themselves independently of men has led to a higher level of divorce.

I think this is the only place on the internet where sex ISN'T the most talked about topic.

They should just change this to mediabanter.com who cares about music? movies and feminism is where it's at.

The women were divorcing the men because they don't need to rely on their husbands for financial support...........................

umm yeah, it is. If that's the reason they're divorcing them then that implies they only married them for financial stability, which means they are both deceiving and using the man. Can you imagine your mother walking out because she never actually loved or even liked your father? Because all she cared about is money?

I'd slap the bitch with a brick.

...Not really. It means that there's nothing keeping them in a marriage they no longer wish to be a part of. If a woman can take care of herself, then the marriage isn't out of a need to be cared for.

Not that I approve of divorce; I think we live in a society of instant gratification and few people are willing to work on their problems, usually at the expense of the children, but you can't blame women for it, haha.

That was how it was back in the early days, you moron. Women had no choice as to a career, it was marriage or spinster hood. Women still marry now mostly for love and as a form of commitment. We don't have to marry for money and to "be taken care of". Sorry you're too brainwashed by patriarchal history.
