It was a sweeping generalization, I'll admit. Although I didn't say 'all', I said 'a lot of'. And my impression was that he/she wasn't talking about 'gender equality advocates', he was talking about feminists.

Being a 'feminist' is sexist against men, and since we're going off the dude's impression of feminists, not an actual 'equal rights advocate', it is also being condescending of women who are happy with a life being the mother/wife type.

That being said, your first post was kinda dickish so I'm afraid I'm not gonna take this conversation any further. Enjoy the debate.

Still false.

Andrea Dworkin was a fringe of feminism. She or her followers did not represent the vast majority who simply believe in self empowerment for all.

Not that I'm taking sides but unless you actually give reasons why this is false then you're borderline trolling. You can't just expect someone to make a logical argument against your position when you don't even present a legitimate position other than merely being in opposition.

She said she didn't want to debate. So I didn't feel the need to explain why she was wrong.

Then why drive-by in the first place? If you're gonna do it twice you should at least give some reasons.

Amen.

I don't debate with people who just say I'm wrong. Nor do I debate with people who insult me.

I have more control than your average forum rat.

lmao @ wpnfire

yorkedaddy of course its a generalization. ive always admitted i do that n i feel no shame either. i will always hate feminists. i dont believe theie agenda to be equal rights. theres a lot i could say about my opinion but i wont unless asked cause ive said it many times. if you self identify as a feminist it makes it difficult to like you

Ok, fine. I'm going to simplify because it's not my job to teach things one can learn on their own.

A lot of feminists absolutely do not look down on any woman who isn't an aggressive man-hater. That ideology represents a miniscule amount of people who identify with the oh, so scary F word. [Insert stupid but effective "not all Muslims are terrorists" comparison here]. You later hide behind your use of "a lot of" to defend your generalization but I'm not going to let you get away with it, because it's still false. There are not "a lot of" people who support this way of thinking, at best it is "a few."

Feminism is not a strictly female idea. What about male feminists? Do they also look down on women who don't aggressively hate their gender?

Feminism does not shame this. Feminism does not encourage people to not be mothers, or not be pretty, or not be taken care of. Feminism has, in part, simply made it an option, and is fighting to abolish the idea that this is all we can be.

You represent a very misconceived idea of what feminism is and who feminists are, and it's offensive. It's not at all difficult to find educational material on the subject to avoid making further generalizations.
