Maybe, she is good.

Saying that, I've always found the panic room allegations very interesting.

Women will never be on equal footing in the sporting World. Is it because of Misogny? No it is all relative to revenue stream and Nielsen ratings. Not even Women can be bothered to watch WNBA or Gymnastics.

Speculation. I'm no Tennis expert, so I'm just basing my 'opinion' off of what I've seen... which isn't much.

Not familiar with what that is.

Doping agency going to her house to test her and her somehow thinking it was an intruder and locking herself in her panic room in her house. Not sure whether she ever took the test either.

I remember reading about it as I am interested in the Operacion Puerta case surrounding Spanish sport.

The reason I mentioned it is because Murray has always been massively outspoken against doping and was furious when the Spanish courts ruled to destroy blood bags taken from Spanish athletes (which would likely include Nadal).

I think Serena is fantastic but there are questions as to whether she's doping or not because of the panic room incident.

Ahhh, ok. I don't follow much sports outside of the Blackhawks and Bears. I wear my hometown blinders with pride.

But, it would seem she was hiding from the test, and BS'ed her way out of it, as my first thought.

That would seem the most likely scenario but I'd have thought she'd have been tested since then as she can't keep herself locked in her panic room forever.

If she has, and she passed, people would just point to her loss to Lisicki at Wimbledon and say she was clean then and that's why she lost. I dunno how she's been doing in other competitions since as I don't follow Tennis.

I wish I had the time and patience to read this entire thread, but I do believe that feminism is important; the patriarchy is real and a threat to all genders. I don't like how the word "feminist" is such a dirty, unsettling word to people. I think that's ridiculous and I'm sort of ashamed of the extremists, as they make anyone who is concerned with gender equality (remember - men can be feminists, too; feminism is NOT solely about the empowerment of women or to suggest that cissexual women are more important than other genders, but simply the fact that there is a serious problem caused by social norms put in place by patriarchal thinking).

I believe that someday we'll live in a world where women (all living people who identify as female) aren't put into a little box (figuratively) and told "this is what you have to do/this is what you're worth/this is what you have to be" or made to feel like they'll never amount to as much as someone who identifies as male.

This is exactly how I feel as well. I'd probably identify as a feminist if it weren't for the sheer hatred of most men towards the term and the Tumblr armchair extremists causing logical atrocities and falling into the exact kind of hate the movement is meant to end.
