Also I disagree that "ghetto culture" is a negative influence, "ghetto culture" when utilised by those who originated it is NOT something bad and marginalised people who find a way to relate to each other and deal with the pain and alienation that poverty, discrimination, and the prison industrial system inflict should not be denigrated. That's really kind of gross and nonsensical to say.

Also white people are lazy as fuck so I think it's hilarious to say otherwise when whites are the first people to whine like babies about affirmative action, when they're unwilling to do even a fraction of the work others do.

Well, I think there are certain aspects of it that have negative implications for the people who adopt it. Maybe it's not right to say the culture as a whole is a negative influence, but I think the glorification of crime and gangs is.

People shouldn't be appropriating cultures that aren't their own, of course. But you try to say that to white people and they get super butthurt. Crime and gangs being glorified is sad and shouldn't really be seen as more than that because they are, in impoverish communities, seen as necessities, especially gangs because obviously cops do not protect the black (and other persons of colour) community

Let's assume for simplicity that roughly half of those white people are male. That would be ~36% of the population.

I don't understand what you mean by appropriating cultures.

In regard to gangs and crime being seen as necessities, that might be true that perception is there but I believe that perception can also be negative. I spent my adolescent years in a neighborhood with a decent amount of gangs and crime, and while there were some economic reasons for this, ultimately many of the people I knew got caught up in trying to be drug dealers. I don't think that was really necessary. Some of them even worked the same jobs that I worked (**** retail jobs and stuff like that). They just wanted more. And when people were being murdered over gangs despite the fact that these weren't major criminal enterprises with a serious cash flow, I got the impression that was unnecessary too. There was an episode of gangland about my high school. I was amazed that these neighborhood gangs I had always been familiar with and that really didn't amount to much were going around killing people for basically no good reason at all. I think a lot of it comes down to what type of attitude you have about the world. If you see the system as against you and think you need to subvert the system and make your money through crime, then you end up going that route even if it actually leaves you worse off at the end of the day.

Yeah, a better way to say "ghetto culture" in this context is "the exploitative parts of hip hop culture created by a few young-and-dumb artists and perpetuated by white corporate America".
