I will gladly hold a door for anyone, I just can't stand it when someone can obviously see that you're right behind them and they don't make any effort at all to acknowledge the fact that you're both going through the same door.

I guess the whole thing is pretty silly, but I still feel flattered whenever some dude goes out of his way to be courteous to me.

It's like.
Feminism.
Movies.
Music.
Food.
Sex.
In that order.
Sex is way more important than food!

don't they go hand in hand and even better when you know how to use food with sex properly.

Or if you swallow.

Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

This sums it up for me.
And what Dayna said too.
It doesn't matter what gender someone is, I'm going to hold the door open for them. I don't see the big deal.

Exactly. I hold doors open for everyone all the time.
I once got a door in my face by a guy who was holding the door open for his friend who was carrying some heavy box, but not for me (he just let go). I passed them by and when I got to the next door, I kept it open. But they were still pretty far away. So they sort of had to run with their heavy box. Owned .

how is that Owned? they could have taken the lazy route and just took their time while you held the door open forever.

I generally check to see if there is someone behind me and hold it for them if I see them regardless of sex.

per this thread:

MoveOn.org Political Action: Redefining Rape?
yall should sign it, if you live in the US. It's a petition against the GOP redefining what constitutes as "rape"
