Coming from Australia, which today is incredibly multicultural and cultural acceptance is something that practically automatically happens, culture doesn't mean any problems for me. I would happily date anyone from any culture, and in no way would ever say something like "Oh, I'd never date a _____ or someone who is ______."
That being said, I can see how it would cause problems for people of some cultures who are either very religious or have very firm cultural practices in place, who would desire that their partner share the same religion/ practices. But I've got heaps of friends who have dated people of many different ethnicities and cultures that differ from their own and it's never really been a big problem. |
