There was a recent news story where a house that kept cats was burned down during the night. They lost about 30 cats. The firefighters tried to get in to save the cats but they couldn't and all they could hear was the cats meowing super loud because they were trapped in cages. I think it was an animal shelter I wish I could find the article but my google skills are failing me at the moment plus i'm not sure where in NY that it happened.

I feel like there HAD to have been more to that story and someone should be held accountable. I don't believe for one second that the fire was accidental it was most likely set on purpose but someone in the neighborhood that was tired of those cats and/or tired of the people that ran the shelter. It could have also been some deranged person that was denied being able to adopt a cat so they decided to come back later and burn down the whole joint.

Most likely it was just some bored ****wad teenager with lazy, ****ty parents. That's ****ing horrible. Man, this thread is starting to remind me of my mother when she used to work at an emeergency veterinarian hospital. She would always come home with some story of a puppy that got hit by a car and had to be put asleep or a litter of kittens that got run over with a lawn mower. The lawn mower thing actually happened. My mother took home one of the kittens and we took care of it for a few weeks till it died. Eventually I just had to tell her to not tell me about her work days cause they were just so depressing.

How did you reach that conclusion? Seems incredibly narrow minded to me.

Also you guys sound crazy "some deranged guy who couldn't adopt a cat might have burned it down", next you'll be blaming the bush administration or the illuminati. There is a HUGE chance that this was an accident.

Humans aren't going around looking for animals to kill, there's not any conspiracy theory here people. Some cats died in an accidental fire, hardly animal cruelty.
