It's really disgusting to me, especially being that addiction is a disease (not saying he's an addict obviously) but still. When I was treated for the drug-induced parkinsons I developed in 2007, it was originally thought to be because of my opiate dependence but I was never treated that way by any of the doctors I dealt with and they were all very caring and compassionate towards me, the only thing even negative that was said to me was when I complained about how much this sucks one of the doctors told me "yeah well that happens when you mess with drugs :/" Turned out to be that it wasn't my opiate dependence but the medication I was put on for my bipolar disorder, LOL |

YES. This has happened to me a couple of times, but not for about two years (thankfully). The last time, it was so bad that I even called 911 and they took me away to the ER. It was just a panic attack so it turned out that I only needed some lorazepam to bring everything back to normal. I'm glad they didn't keep pumping me full of benzodiazepines, though.

Cheers guys, glad other ppl can relate.
Long story short, I took the piss last week w/ beer. Friday & Saturday I felt bad, noticed a slight bit of chest discomfort trying to sleep (this would have been Sunday morning, early hours) and it got worse until about 10am when I decided to phone the NHS 24/7 thingy, answered a load of questions & they said I needed to come to hospital as they can't ignore chest pain, it wasn't an emergency i.e. send an ambulance out but they'd put me down as urgent and to come in before 10pm Sunday night. It was at this point I started to feel/imagine pressure in my left arm and I ****ing **** myself. Had an ECG and some other tests and everything was good, staff trying to calm me down etc, so I know it was the anxiety. I knew you could get chest pains from anxiety, but didn't know they'd feel like this. Terrifying. Quote:
I've never had medication but think I will have to have some now. Been offered by my GP but declined at the time. |

What do benzodiapines do exactly? I know they are hard to get off.

Does anyone live in a country where euthanasia is legal? Here in Australia it's being debated now. I wonder if there is a distinction between euthanasia and suicide rates in countries where it is legal and whether suicide rates are lower.

You pose an interesting question. You think maybe just having euthanasia as an option somehow keeps fewer people from suicide? |
