Anyway, it does nothing for me, even when I take the maximum dosage, but I've heard that it has helped others. It's a fairly safe and non-addictive drug.

One thing that also might help you sleep is a magnesium supplement. I have a special magnesium supplement that is a night-time formula powder, it also has other substances in it that promote muscle relaxation and relief from tension headaches. It's not a drug, it's a vitamin. If you ask chemists about magnesium "night" supplements I'm sure they'll know what you're talking about. I have a scoop of the powder every night in a glass of water and I think over time it has helped me relax and get to sleep at night time. I also have a lot of trouble sleeping at night and often get night terrors or anxiety. Good luck!
I take amitriptyline and zopliclone to get to sleep. I've been using sleeping pills a lot more lately. I think your magnesium idea is much healthier though.

Yeah, I take amitriptyline daily but for something else unrelated to sleep, I've been taking it for so many years that it the symptoms of sleepiness are no longer present

Definitely try the magnesium supplement thing!

On a random note, where did you get your avatar? It's really beautiful.

I've always thought it was a picture of your eye and you did some editing to it.

Nope, I shamelessly stole it from somewhere (no idea where though...)

Kids commit suicide more because due to the bullies at school. I hate hearing it in the news.

^^this, although I'm not sure about the statistics, but bullying is terrible and tragic.

Bullying would be a good topic for it's own thread

My god mother took her life when I was 9 or 10 years old and it completely tore my family apart and ruined my life and several others' for years. She struggled with addiction to alcohol, cocaine, and with depression that was misdiagnosed and mistreated as bipolar disorder. The drugs ****ed her up even worse until one day she apparently couldn't take it anymore. Her decision to kill herself, her lack of responsibility to herself and the people close to her by ignoring her Doctor's instructions and quitting her anti-depressant regime was selfish and unbelievably stupid but cowardly? I think not. It is unlikely that she would've steeped as low as she did if she hadn't been misdiagnosed in the first place. I miss her every day still more than a decade later, but she was no coward. All in all, it's a case by case basis.

Bit on the late train with this next thing but as far as sleeping pills go, y'all should really try Melatonin. It's completely natural and the only side effects are wicked crazy ass dreams. Seriously it's almost like you're tripping. You do build a slight tolerance to it but I've never had a problem sleeping without it. And if you're being kept awake because of anxiety maybe try and work out the anxiety without pills first.
