Nope, you're the who made the specific comment about Bush's second term. I was just responding to what you said.
Ok, let me rephrase:

Brokeback Mountain was a propaganda piece; conceived as a reaction to Bush's push for a Federal Marriage Amendment which began in the '04 election cycle.

...that's a huge difference.

That's some amazing commentary; truly insightful.

*Bzzzt* Wrong answer again! It was based on a story written in 1997. Care to give another homophobic conspiracy theory a try?

No. I was aware that it was based off said story and that said story was written during the Clinton era; however, I maintain the time of production was not accidental. A film about (X) subject is going to do better when (X) subject is being discussed on all major media outlets.

Even if it was gay propaganda, it would be nice to fight back against all the homophobic indoctrination that the media constantly spews out anyway.

Propaganda? So, we have the Bush administration to thank for Brokeback Mountain then?

You're funny, HHB.

Thats funny...all I ever hear is the media saying how unacceptable it is every time a sports player shouts a homophobic slur. There are even commercials inbetween highlight reels to prevent players and society as a whole from using the term "thats gay" as a way of saying something is dumb. Kobe Bryant was fined 100,000 big ones for using a homophobic insult last year. Yesterday a hockey player shouted a insult and he's going to be fined as well. The amount is unkown but im sure it'll be pretty hefty. Personally I think society has evolved a lot over the years to becoming more acceptable to gay rights. Thats just my opinion though

The media constantly spews out homophobic indoctrination? Granted, I don't watch TV, but I do try to keep up with politics, and it seems that blatant homophobia is pretty limited. The most popular source of homophobia that I can think of is popular rap, and then there's TV preachers making awkward connections between abortion, homosexuals and 9/11. Considering the people who get their information from these sources tend to be individuals with fontanels, I think you may be overstating the problem a bit.
