I'm sure there is a hole in the question somewhere.

Again, it's just a question.
I am gay.

Asking someone why they're not gay is like asking a 7ft tall man, "Why aren't you shorter? Why aren't you, say 5'8"? " That's just how he is. Some people are tall, others are short, some are attracted to the opposite sex, others to both sexes, and some to the same sex. I think it's sad that we have to get so in-depth into this - there's really no need. Also, sexual orientation for the overwhelming majority is not a choice. I frankly don't see how someone can choose to be aroused when exposed to specific stimuli on demand. I always thought it was instinctual. I was listening to a psychology lecture from Dr. Paul Bloom from Yale. He argued that sexual orientation has to be mostly genetic -- hence why it hasn't died out of the gene pool yet. He also argued that it couldn't be completely and totally genetic - as twins have shown to have different sexual orientations.

Agreed. The question has been asked a million times before.

Yet...I keep getting sucked in...so nevermind me

That's kind of a fallacy no? If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and so divine his morality should be superior and supersede yours, correct? Even if you choose to ignore, and rank sins differently, you still have to see the problem there right? You're either claiming you know better then god, or deliberately disobeying him. Either option isn't too nice.

It can take time to discover one's true feelings about things like sexual orientation.

Male men? Are there other kinds of men?

Yeah. I don't see why people would choose to be gay, especially since it's highly frowned upon.

Racists used to use the Bible to justify their prejudice. I find it pretty unnerving that you claim to be all about love and acceptance yet you won't even go so far as to "support" the "lifestyle." Your flowery language is getting old -- put your money where your mouth is. The "...but I have a gay friend!" is a weak argument.
I see your point, to an extent. I'm not one of those people that's gonna go out and stand up for gay rights, but then again there's only a handful of things I'd be willing to go to extremes for. Something I really really believe in. Every homosexual person I know has accepted me for who I am, and I them. Because, in that case, I'm not a radical Bible-thumper, I'm just doing what Christ called me to do..and that was love. If you really knew me, you'd know I don't care what you've done or who you are..I'll still look at you in the same way. Call it 'flowery language' if you want, truth.

Okay, because I like crash_override, I'm going to try and respectfully explain why I think you're wrong here.

I think you're actions are kind of hypocritical here. There are many things that the Bible describes as "sinful." Such as the consumption of shellfish, men shaving their beards, enslaving Israelites (and ONLY Israelites.) As one person pointed out, you have a tattoo, the Bible has the whole part about your body being a temple.

Now obviously it would be totally irrational to compare getting a tattoo, to murder, however if you choose to ignore the whole your body is a temple thing, and you choose to eat shellfish why not say homosexuality is okay? Why choose to treat that one as sin when the bible has so many sins listed that you probably ignore? It's weird to me and I don't understand your reasoning.
