Asking someone why they're not gay is like asking a 7ft tall man, "Why aren't you shorter? Why aren't you, say 5'8"? " That's just how he is. Some people are tall, others are short, some are attracted to the opposite sex, others to both sexes, and some to the same sex. I think it's sad that we have to get so in-depth into this - there's really no need. Also, sexual orientation for the overwhelming majority is not a choice. I frankly don't see how someone can choose to be aroused when exposed to specific stimuli on demand. I always thought it was instinctual. I was listening to a psychology lecture from Dr. Paul Bloom from Yale. He argued that sexual orientation has to be mostly genetic -- hence why it hasn't died out of the gene pool yet. He also argued that it couldn't be completely and totally genetic - as twins have shown to have different sexual orientations. |

That's kind of a fallacy no? If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and so divine his morality should be superior and supersede yours, correct? Even if you choose to ignore, and rank sins differently, you still have to see the problem there right? You're either claiming you know better then god, or deliberately disobeying him. Either option isn't too nice.

Yeah. I don't see why people would choose to be gay, especially since it's highly frowned upon.

Okay, because I like crash_override, I'm going to try and respectfully explain why I think you're wrong here.
I think you're actions are kind of hypocritical here. There are many things that the Bible describes as "sinful." Such as the consumption of shellfish, men shaving their beards, enslaving Israelites (and ONLY Israelites.) As one person pointed out, you have a tattoo, the Bible has the whole part about your body being a temple. Now obviously it would be totally irrational to compare getting a tattoo, to murder, however if you choose to ignore the whole your body is a temple thing, and you choose to eat shellfish why not say homosexuality is okay? Why choose to treat that one as sin when the bible has so many sins listed that you probably ignore? It's weird to me and I don't understand your reasoning. |
