*This may of may not be a serious point, people may take it however they like.
actually gays can get that without being married, i forgot what it's called but it's basically getting a document that says you are "together" in the eyes of the government but not officially married, the document is so ***s can get all the tax cuts and etc.

Yes, a civil partnership.

But it's still the choice of the individual churches as to whether they want to issue them for gay couples or not.

Which in my book doesn't make it equality.

well that's the best (not really) the government could (chose) to do

and if it was legal they could still get married they would just need someone willing to marry them to take one of those 15-minute tests online and there ya go

Really? Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism. None are fans of homos.

Hinduism has split opinions I think. Pagans and Satanists are cool with it though.

So yeah, my advice has always been that homosexuals should just start their own religions and wouldn't you know it, some of them have.

But in retrospect that was bad advice, last thing we need are more religions. I don't want a bunch of guys knocking on my f*cking door at 8 AM in the morning wanting to convert me to c*ck worship.

Unfortunately, since politics and religion are still so far up each other's asses (I'm looking at you, social conservatives) despite the supposed "seperation of church and state", marriage has become part of both our government AND religion. IMO, marriage right now needs to be heavily reformed. It's outdated, and domestic partnerships and the like aren't cutting it. Domestic partnerships and civil unions are in no way equal to marriage under the law, and they're not available/recognized everywhere in the US. :/

I'm not that religious, so it might just be my personal bias, but I think that all the states recognizing gay marriages is much more important than religions recognizing gay marriages. Let them come to it on their own terms... or not. Hatred and intolerance sure are lovely things.

Although I can't really imagine what it would be like to LGBTQ and Christian, so I'll shut up now.

Does anyone else think that by debating this we're entertaining the argument for people who think there is something wrong with homosexuality; Validating their argument?

Where are those statistics from? Considering most American states don't even allow *** marriage, how could there be divorce? (If we're taking the American route here. Cause America = the world, right?)

Not me.
I don't see how ignoring an issue could be more productive than having a dialog about it.
