as for the initial topic of discussion. i think establishing a modern theory that rape is a biological function is incredibly scary and messed up. especially if it starts being used as legal defense in court. :bonkhead:

it might have been the biological function of cavemen, but i don't plan on going back to living inside a small hole in a big rock during my lifetime and i don't think many other people do either. so whether or not it was a biological function within our species ages ago i don't see why it matters that much in present day. it's not like we still have tails anymore...

I'm not a feminist - I like men that act like ''men'' like any woman does. I don't believe in domesticating or controlling men but rape is pretty out there. Surely more people are against it then feminists right?

And it really is no excuse. Any mentally stable person has the capability to be civilized and ethical. When men treat women like they are not human beings, that is not something that can be defended as biologically normal, it's a sign of sociopathy.

I understand the topic of this thread is an explosive one, but if you think what the OP is talking about is an attempt to sugarcoat rape then you are really misunderstanding the discussion. Just because something may have an evolutionary advantage doesn't mean it's justifiable or ethical. There undoubtably is an evolutionary advantage to murder in some scenarios as well, that doesn't mean it's morally acceptable to kill people.

That's a useless statistic because there is no distinction made between the kinds of crimes being committed.

One of the most common crimes among women is prostitution, which is more of a problem with esteem than narcissism. They don't tend to be sociopaths.

Men commit more murders, rapes, robberies and violent assaults. These are crimes more associated with sociopathy.
