I guess,

I feel like empathy should be as crucial to academics and development early on as the alphabet and basic math. Like, if you can't respect other people, add and subtract, and spell 'dog', you don't get to pass 3rd grade.

I agree with all of that. What I disagree with is any sense of guilt-by-association. You would never pull a sickening stunt like that and there's no earthly reason to accept a particle of responsibility for the actions of those creeps.

Neither, I just commend her bravery to speak openingly about it. Well, she's brave whether she shares her experiences or not.

I'm actually in tears reading about this. These people are repulsive for even thinking they're funny at all, exploiting her pain. This is why women, at any age, are terrified to be out alone, even in the furthest corners of our mind. Because if anything happens to us, we're made out to be fools by people who think we deserve to be abused, destroyed, assaulted.... I'm sick with grief for this girl's angel heart right now. :(

I'm really upset by it too. :(

Yip, if it was their mother or sister they certainly would think twice about doing such a thing. They just want their 15 minutes of fame.

How does this kind of reaction to something so ****ed up and horrible even arise in society? Seriously, those kids are ****ed up and should see therapists for being so insensitive.

I just worry about whether this society will stop blaming victims and slut shaming. It's bad enough being raped, let alone having your naked body spread online AS WELL as people mocking/imitating you passed out during the assault. I hope that potential employers find these ****heads and blacklist them.

You're right, I got a little carried away. I don't feel guilty and I'm not accepting any responsibility though. I guess at the time I was just ashamed to know that as a 'male' I could ever be thought of being capable of something like that. I mean, it would be a rash and hurtful assumption sure but it would sadly make sense.

Didn't you say you were repulsed by men the other day, & I'm sure you said once you would take pleasure out of seeing men beaten to a pulp or words to that effect.

Just asking.

This. Also, there's no reason to assume everyone doing the trolling was male.

But, damn what a horrible, fucked up story. It pisses me off that there are people like that out there and I wish all of them could be be ejected from earth.

I don't know, I feel your point, but I just question whether this is the right time and place.

OK understood (I was going to post it somewhere else but just went with here tbh), if a mod could move my posts to a more appropriate place like the SYG thread that'd be spiffing.

See this is what annoys me, it's the cultural, patriarchal "what-men-are-expected-to-do" standards that they take on and are identified by it that seeps in, influences your own individual identity, whether indirectly or directly. Because a) it's some sort of way of fitting into societies image or standards to gain worth or b) some need to understand societies judgments or actions and what it means about yourself.

It has nothing to do with you being a male and everything to do with making choices, ultimately.

I'm sorry but biological reasons of what rape accomplishes being inbred in males... No. Reject the ****ing characterizations and maybe there will be a change. Think for yourself and maybe there will be a change. Get rid of the illusions of what you're entitled to because of cultural, social standards and maybe there will be a change. We are capable of this and that is what we need to use.

If you look up the pics of people doing the #jadapose.

There are women and men that are doing the trolling and aiming to spice up their twitter feeds.

Those kids are obsessed with being popular through social media but any means necessary.
