I worked at Goodwill, (a really large and busy one) so I've seen every sort of demonic child and parent imaginable. I have followed a miasma of death into a dressing room to find a sniveling horrible goblin child using a broken KitchenAid mixer as a toilet (without once breaking eye contact) -- and experienced other such things with alarming regularity.
I've also witnessed the beginning of a few psychotic episodes which were also fairly terrifying (not that I consider mental illness terrifying-- I was terrified for them and worried for their safety, rather). And the occasional weird drunken megalomaniacal episode that one of my exes would subject me to. I can't believe I can actually say that I've been screamed at in tongues not once, but three times by very physically aggressive men in the midst of a psychotic break/manic episode.
