I cannot personally relate with how life would be living within a country that is torn and scarred by the constant threats and breakouts of War with everyday life, but I can imagine, and I do as most everyone may at one time or another, as to try and put themselves in the shoes of the ones that are living with war as everyday life.
The only honest standpoint of view that I can personally omit, (as an American) is that war has been a burden on our country and its people constant for atleast the past 20 years now, the same way that it has, I would expect for Britian and other allies also. I understand the prospect, as being viewed by other countries, that we should intervene in every threat of war that arises around the globe, but it is starting to take its toll on my patience personally and I am getting disgusted living everyday with the lingering scent of war in the air when holding in account the now existing war in Iraq and Afghanistan. In my opinion we need a musical revolution like the movement during the Vietnam war, I am surprised the music industry hasnt tried to cash in on the ongoing war already, but I would like to hear some new bands merging with an attitude musically, etc. against war and demanding peace and social prosperity. That is one of the musical personality aspects I like about the band 'Five Finger Death Punch' toward their image and music, if you are into this style of music, one can hear the influence and turbulence of decades of war in the music, (just a personal opinion) ![]() |

who do you think is leading the parade for 'good' music (the way it was back in the 70s) at the expense of legitimately new/unproven stuff? rehashing the past will never be the solution for the future. then again learning from mistakes requires the ability to own up to having been wrong. regardless of my own feelings towards hippies and boomers, i don't think many bands would take up that charge anyway because they'd come off as contrived and cliche. who is anyone in the west to be 'demanding' anything of the rest of the world? why is the western idea of 'peace' the one everyone else is supposed to follow? how can western 'peace' - which is rooted in social disparity be used to promote social prosperity? and please PLEASE don't try to feed me the line about taking 'it' away from the rich and spreading it out to the masses. if you want your turn on the throne just own up to it, don't front altruism to cover jealousy. |
